most children will: know that there are a variety of fish which are eaten and are popular among consumers; use data-handling skills to present their findings; group foods according to their nutrition type; estimate the weight of and accurately weigh fish; identify some groups within fish species, the habitats in which they live and key features of a life cycle of a fish; know some of the changes that have occurred in the fishing industry; suggest ways in which fishermen might protect the environment and their fisheries for the future; identify on maps the location of fishing harbours in their locality, other places in the world and the interdependencies between places; test and evaluate existing products, design and prototype their ideas before making a fish pie to a specification; observe hygiene guidelines; produce a piece of instructional writing using recipe conventions and layout |
